On June 28th, 2018, Ghost Painted Sky returns to the live stage for the first time in almost three years! Aurora Grabill will be returning on keys, and Peter Nulton will again be joining us on bass guitar. This will also mark Lisa Wood's first live show with Ghost Painted Sky, as well as Michael Rebeiro's first live performance with us on guitar. We'll be sharing the stage with November Party, at goth/industrial night Nokturnal at Dusk, 301 Harris Ave, Providence, RI. Dusk is 18+, doors are at 9 p.m. and the bands will be on early to leave plenty of time for the DJs to help everyone get their dance on later.
While Ghost Painted Sky has been publicly pretty low-key the past couple years, we've been busy working on a few new releases for 2018, including the first full-length album, and a vinyl 7". We are also working on putting together a new live band to start playing out again later in the year. Stay tuned and have a Happy New Year!
"Your Scars on Mine" and "Seeker" are a pair of dark and dreamy love songs that take place in the real world, each penned and sung by one half for the other. "Flutter" is a short, quasi-instrumental flight of fancy unique to this release. Lisa Wood has joined us to do some female vocals on this EP and the forthcoming full-length (in other news, the previously announced Flightless EP is transforming into a full album!).
Scars is now available on CD, as well as for download (and listening) on the bandcamp page!
This upcoming Thursday, March 16th, 2017 Ghost Painted Sky will be the in-studio guest on the goth/industrial/dark electronic/dark alternative show Xenocyx on WMUA FM. The show starts an hour early this week at 11 p.m., and goes until 2 a.m. Ghost Painted Sky will have control of the decks and will be spinning some favorite tracks, new and old. Xenocyx DJ/host Purple will be talking to us live, and we'll be debuting a couple new Ghost Painted Sky tracks! You can stream the show live at wmua.org, or tune in to 91.1 FM if you are in Western Massachusetts.
•Ghost Painted Sky wants to thank everyone who came out to any of the most recent round of live shows (you can see some pics from the shows here). We also want to thank the show organizers and promoters, as well as the other bands and DJs who performed at these shows.
Ghost Painted Sky debuted as a live band on July 25th, 2015, as part of the 2015 Upper Valley Music Festival.
